Organic Route

The Dalmatian Coast is fast emerging as one of Europe's most popular
eco-destinations with many of the islands and National Parks only
accessible by water.

On The Organic Route itinerary, clients will be able to sample the
best local restaurants, bars and vineyards in the region, as recommended by Dalmatian Destinations' local experts.  In addition, each day, the menu provided on board will offer a range of dishes including locally produced low- fat meat and seafood, organically grown vegetables as well as locally produced wine, much of which is also organic.

Based on local and seasonal produce, the Croatian diet is extremely healthy because national food production still remains very much a family business and organic in practice.  Croatia was also, until the turn of the C20th, one of the largest wine producer in the world.  The wine produced on the island of Vis was considered to be the finest in the ancient world, however today, the regions of Sveta Nedilja and Peljesac produce some of the best Croatian wines and The Organic Route itinerary takes these into account.

Hvar, often alluded to as the "Santorini" of Croatia because of its much photographed Venetian architecture, offers a vibrant restaurant and cafe scene. Despite its popularity, Hvar has nevertheless maintained its authenticity. The island of Vis has only two villages making it completely unspoilt. It owes much of its preservation to its previous stance as naval base barring foreigners from its shores for 50 years until 1992. Korcula is known as the birth place of Marco Polo. The town of Korcula is called "little Dubrovnik" because of the high concentration of historical sites in a small area.
